Where were the turbos mounted on the 1038rwhp DSOM Corvette?
Rear mount (muffler) or on a manifold?

The 2005 Lingenfelter C6 Corvette Motor Trend shoot out car used a slightly different turbo manifold than what our production systems use due to the larger turbo. The turbos mount up close to the engine. This car also had a different design charge cooler and larger race turbo ducting.

On the standard production LPE TT system the turbocharger mounting locations are before the OEM catalyst up close to the engine. The turbo housings are bolted to the exhaust manifolds next to the oil pan. The turbo exhaust housings have integral waste gates that dump back into the exhaust system. After the exhaust housings you have the exhaust outlets that go to the cats. The turbo exhaust manifolds & outlets are hand fabricated by LPE from 304 stainless steel and we modify a production Garrett turbo compressor housing.

Here are some pictures of a production 2006-2009 Corvette ZO6 LS7 TT system that has been ceramic coated. This system runs GT30 Garrett turbos for our 800 horsepower or 1,000 horsepower package.

Yes, the 2005 C6 Lingenfelter Daytona sunset orange metallic Corvette was built with Garrett GT35's turbochargers. The 2006 C6 ZO6 Corvette velocity yellow standing mile car was built with Borg Warner Schwitzer S365R extended tip turbochargers. Here is an underhood picture showing the set up as it was going together. Bowtie Smilie

Beautiful  :43:

I heard that even larger turbos were placed on here. Are there any plans to run another mile event and show everyone whos Boss? Would it be possible to replicate this one? Bowtie Smilie

All Lingenfelter twin turbo engines use close coupled turbochargers mounted on the exhaust manifolds ahead of the catalytic converter mounting.
