New here.....vehicle is a 2005 GTO 416,6 speed,3.73 gears,non daily driver but mostly street driven...most LS forums are a sales orgy and I wanted some opinions about cylinder heads from a company that uses factory heads in all their packages wuth good success.Running 243's w/2.08/1.575's right now but thinking of a move up to Dart Heads.TFS and E.T. Performance, now Performance Induction, seem to be the hot s**t now.AFR's are basically a 243with a thicker deck.
Had either a head gasket failure or a head crack so the motor is coming out.Also,after only 900 miles on the new 416,its using oil.(3qts in 900 miles).
Debating going down the stock head route again or going to a Dart and having the race gead shop that did my stock heads do the CNC work and assembly.The TFS was an option but that seems like a max effort high RPM high flowing head for light vehicle(vette or a race only Fbody)
My 416 car made 472rwhp/475rwtq w/ stock heads,2.08/1.575 ,CNC'd ports and chamber and a 234*/238 .650" cam.My stock bottom end 6.0 made 420rwhp/390rwtq with stock heads,2.02/1.575 CNC's ports and chambers and a 230*/236* .629" cam. The 416,though it pulled hard,seems like some power is being left untapped....and every one says its the heads...so I came to a forum run by a company that runs nothing but factory heads and does just fine.Unless i go to one of the non-stock valve angle heads,the stock 15* heads,stock and aftermarket all seem to be capable,and most of the designs look just like the LS6 casting 243's......
Any ideas or advice????
