Here are some pictures of the prototype 241 mm differential we ran in our LS9 powered Camaro at the Camaro5Fest in Atlanta in April. This differential was equipped with our 4.10 ratio ring & pinion gears, driveshaft and heavy duty axle shafts. The production version of these components are targeted to be released in August 2010.

Ring & pinion will be available in 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56 ratios.

More details coming soon. Bowtie Smilie

This is a picture of one of the new cast aluminum heavy duty Camaro SS differential assemblies that will soon be for sale from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. These units are production built by American Axle who is the OE supplier to GM for the factory Camaro differentials. We expect to have the first run of cast differentials later this month. The Lingenfelter LS9 powered Camaro SS that recently ran 8.997 in the 1/4 mile was running the prototype billet aluminum 241 MM differential assembly. Stay tuned for more details and pictures of the production cast aluminum differential.

The complete LPE 241 MM differential kit will be a direct bolt in and will also include heavy duty axles & driveshaft assembly. For comparison the factory differential assembly is a 218 MM diameter ring gear.

The new Lingenfelter Cast Aluminum Camaro SS differential kit will include a heavy duty driveshaft assembly and heavy duty axles. Shown here is a prototype set of axles from the Driveshaft Shop and our prototype driveshaft assembly. The LPE driveshaft weighs 29 lbs vs the stock driveshaft at 24 lbs. The stock axles and driveshaft is not compatible with this differential.

The Lingenfelter differential can be installed in a V6 Camaro but it would require a slightly different driveshaft from what the V8 kit uses.

More information and pictures coming soon.

Can't wait to get mine Tim. This looks like an OEM quality product, much better than the 9" IRS offerings from various speed shops.

By the way, I presume this kit does NOT require any cutting of the frame or subfloor to install. Is that a safe assumption? I know the 9" IRS kits require cutting

Correct this is a direct OE style bolt in that will not require cutting or mods to mount the assembly and related components.
