After LPE engine dyno testing and chassis dyno testing Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is now offering the new Edelbrock E-Force supercharger systems. The new E-Force supercharger system is unique with its design that allows it to be used with the stock C6 Corvette hood. This system allows C6 Corvette owners to obtain excellent performance improvements without decreasing reliability while still retaining the stock exterior look.

Amazing! You are in a unique position to tell us how the dyno compares to your standard Maggie TVS2300 install. Some of the performance shops on the CF imply that the Edlebrock develops less power, but that is with the out-of-the box tune. What have you found? Also, I am surprised that your price is so much lower than your Maggie install. Subtract a couple of grand or maybe three for the hood and the Edlebrock is still a real bargain. Why? Congrats for staying in the market!

Hi Larry,
Actually, this was the Edelbrock out of the box tune! The base install with the Edelbrock tune is essentially similar in price to the base install of the Maggie. Further tuning would put us in familiar price territory with our Maggie installed package less the hood.

Thanks, Jeff. I guess a dyno comparison would be apples and oranges since this is the lower HP Edlebrock without the fuel pump. Have you done the 600+ Edlebrock yet? Can we see comparison dyno's?

Actually, this is the Edelbrock 599 kit on the Mustang Dyno and the numbers for the 599 kit vs the TVS2300 are very similar.

OK, so why is anyone going to buy the Maggie TVS 2300 ever again? You can do the Edlebrock for $9000 installed and the Maggie costs $14,000, with about the same performance? What am I missing here?

The base 550 edelbrock kit (their tuning) is going to be lower priced, and lower power and will be comparable to the base TVS install (magnuson tuning) less the hood. Add the dyno work, and further tuning, and they will be in similar territory (again - less the hood). Their are more products currently available as upgrades for the TVS, and the TVS also has a certain look that many like better as well.

Gotcha, I think. Sorry to be so dense. If I understand this, $9000 is your price for the base Edelbrock kit. Your price for the 599 kit is closer to the TVS 2300 630 less the hood? If this is true, I still think Edelbrock is going to sell a mess of these.

I agree. The decision will be based on looks now. Does a person want the look of the TVS but at the expense of having to get a new hood, change the look of the car and announce to the world something has been modified OR go with the edelbrock (which does not look as nice under the hood) and keep the outward stock look. I'm intrigued.

I agree, looks may rule. I have an LS2 so this would not have even been an option for me, yet, but as I think about my decision process and my desire to go with LPE, I would have saved some bucks, used my stock hood, and gone with the Edlebrock package. I don't show the car and just wanted the HP. The LPE warranty on their Maggie package is better than the Edlebrock warranty if you are approaching the end of the GM warranty, but I doubt that is much of a factor since we all toss the powertrain warranty in either case. Maggie has a longer history of Vette products and plenty of people have added other performance mods with the Maggie. Seems like for 600HP or less, the Edelbrock package is a winner.

Here are some views of the E-Force supercharger system installed on a 2008 C6 Corvette LS3. The Lingenfelter logo was CNC'ed into the standard E-Force aluminum cover for a nice custom look just last night. Click pictures for larger views. This C6 Corvette will be on display Saturday May 8th 2010 at the Bud's Chevrolet Car Show (http://www.budschevy.com/) in St. Marys Ohio.

Nice touch! But, I am now completely convinced that I like the look of the Maggie with body color covers better. Good thing, because that is what I have.

I agree (except for the part "this is what I have"!)
