I have a '95 Burb with a 605 cu. in. Lingenfelter. I have all of the paper work for the history of the vehicle. We are the second owner.

In the latest tune up efforts, we found that we couldn't approach the original timing, 32 degress i think, with any hope of getting it started. At installation it dynoed at 600 hp. (I am assuming engine dyno).

It continually wants to run rich, and idles poorly. How do I find the original settings on the super chip and pcu and after 16 years what kind of performance should i expect from this engine?

I can supply many more details if needed but didnt know where to start.

If you have one of the trucks that had the single MAF's or mass air flow sensors then the engine is controlled with a 1990 Camaro ECU. The timing should be set to 6-8 inital timing with the service mode lead disconnected. The lead should be a single brown wire with a black line. While the truck is idling, disconnect the connector on the brown wire and set the timing to 6-8 initial, then reconnect that wire.

The 32 degrees of timing you are referring to would be total timing not initial timing.

In regards to the running rich I would check for leaking injectors and the standard type of issues. What fuel pressure is it running at? I don’t remember but it might have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on it that may be bad or set incorrectly.
