I am exploring using the LS2 injector in my L-98. Problem 1; the LS2 injector is slightly larger than an LS1 or L-98 injector. Ok, so I can rebore the manifold. What diameter (mm/in) is needed for an LS2 bore at the nozzle end? Problem 2; the earlier injectors mate with a machined seat in the intake manifold. The LS2 injector does not appear to have a similar "seating" surface. How does one determine and secure the depth of the injector in the hole. Fuel rail height would change but that is no problem and bores in the log are ok stock. Harness is from scratch so EV-6 is OK. The ECU will be a FAST XFI so whatever I put in will be controlable. Any help?

Posting my own reply. LS2 injector bores are 0.550" L98 bores are 0.515". Using a 0.551 eight flute reamer with a 0.512" guide to enlarge injector bores. Will not be able to have a seat inside the bore to serve as a stop point for the injector but will machine a sleeve (tube with a 0.515 ID) fitting over the lower outside of the injector. The sleeve will be a jamb between the body of the injector and the intake manifold seat. The length of the sleeve will determine and secure the depth of the injector in the bore. Now I can have a 4-Bar, EV-6, 33lbs/hr injector technology that was born this century.
