Thread: Cold timing issue with 630 upgrade

  1. Default Cold timing issue with 630 upgrade

I have just added the 630 upgrade to my CTS-V 2011 and am experiencing some sluggish performance at 1500-300 rpm only when engine is cold. Seems to be below 160 degrees. I had it Dyno tuned and retuned. The second tune some adjustments were made to the 02 sensor maps? Any ideas or suggestions. Has anyone heard of similar issue? Should closed loop tuning need to be done or cold engine tuning? Im going for round 3 on the Dyno.

Is this a manual trans or automatic. If it is an automatic, it will hold in gear just a little longer. Is this at part throttle, or wide open throttle? Was the sluggish performance similar on the chassis dyno? Any additional modifications done to the car?

Manual Transmission. At part throttle with no other modifications done. I had a 3rd dyno done at a different shop and they said was running way rich. They seem to have eliminated any problems and have kept the same HP. Am adding a new intercooler now as engine air temp is crazy hot.

Be prepared for it to be even hotter. I put on a D3 UltraCooler this past weekend and the engine bay is roasting. Its bad enough that I had to hit up Ryan and have him add a 160° T-stat to my last order. Doubt it'll fix the issue, but every little bit helps.
