Thread: GT9 questions

    Default GT9 questions

Will soon be getting the LPE GT9 and the ported LPE cylinder heads for my 2012 CTSV M6 daily driver.

Had a few questions, hoping somebody could answer:

The springs, valves, and retainers come with the heads, and I'm getting the C5R timing chain through LPE - any other recommended supporting upgrades to improve reliability or longevity?

Considering it's not getting tracked, how often should the springs or other valvetrain components be checked or replaced with the GT9?

From a baseline of 560/560 now, about how much additional RWHP and torque would you expect from these two adds?

    Thanks!

    Current Upgrades
    - LPE upper pulley
    - AIRAID CAI with oiled K&N filter
    - ID850 injectors
    - MSD wires and NGK iridium plus
    - custom dyno tune

In addition to the GT9 Camshaft L210150309 and IWIS C5 R Timing Chain HME-G68V-2

    I would suggest the following

L960006509 LSA Head Gasket & Bolt kit that includes:
    ZR1 Head Gaskets (2) 12622033
    Exhaust Manifold Gaskets (2) 12620947
    Head bolts (2) 17800568
    LSA Balancer Bolt 11570046

GM Crankshaft Bolt POA Friction Washer LSA, LS9 12603843

L200175307 3 Bolt Cam Conversion Kit

Another option would be our LPE Logo Anodized Strut Tower Brace L500130709

Well I got it installed but am having issues.

Basically after adding the GT9 and ported heads kit, the car lurches off the line, losing power briefly before getting its legs, and sometimes misfires when you stomp on it.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

sounds like a tuning issue. Although it should be an easy cam to tune.

Assuming DBW, is the throttle blade doing what your foot is telling it to ?

I believe so, but haven't verified or asked that exact question myself. I'll check.
    Thanks
