    Default GT9 cam clearance

    i'm wanting to get the gt9 cam and put it in a 2010 camaro LS3. i need to know if the pistons in to be flycut? if not how much clearance should this cam have? the heads are not milled.

    Flag GT9 Piston to Valve Clearance with LS9 Engine

    The GT9 camshaft will not require additional valve relief space with the LS3 engine when installed with stock heads. Piston to valve specifications coming tomorrow.

    Installed at 120.5 centerline
    Intake valve clearance .128” Exhaust valve clearance .108”


    GT11 L210065297 215/231 .631/.644 118 CL
    Installed at 118 centerline
    Intake valve clearance .130” Exhaust valve clearance .165”

    All were with a stock LS3 short block, stock LS3 cylinder heads with the piston +.006 above the deck.

    can this gt9 cam be a daily driver? i have read the lsk lobes are not valvetrain friendly

    The Lingenfelter GT9 camshaft has no issues being a daily driver. We have not seen any issues with valvetrain problems and install them in most every supercharger heads & cam car we do for Corvette, Camaro, CTS-V.

    How much rwhp diff between the ls9 and the gt9? Also would the gt9 have less torque or more than the ls9?

    We did a lot of engine dyno development testing with our LS9 supercharged Camaro engine, let me see what data we have and I can post it tomorrow.

    do you have a graph comparing the ls9/zr1 cam to the gt9? rwhp?
