Lingenfelter C6 Corvette ZR1 Engine Package Warranty
The Lingenfelter 3/36 standard warranty does not apply to the 680 HP & 710 HP ZR1 upgrade packages because of the lower overall cost of these upgrades. The ZR1 supercharger components installed as part of these packages do carry a 1 year parts warranty against defects.
The Lingenfelter engine package warranties are not a third party insurance policy that has limits on the expense of the repairs & does not rely on approval by a third party insurance adjuster. Lingenfelter has always absorbed the cost of our warranty repairs on our covered packages and we feel this helps us to better provide an excellent product that we can stand behind.
The 750 HP ZR1 engine package includes a Lingenfelter 2/24 warranty on the engine assembly. In most cases warranty repairs can be performed at the vehicle owner’s local Chevrolet dealer or by an ASE certified GM mechanic in the customer’s area. Each case will be evaluated individually to determine if repairs can be performed correctly at repair facility in your area. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering reserves the right in some situations to require the vehicle to be returned at the vehicle owner’s expense for warranty repairs. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering does require you to submit an estimate for approval before we will pay for repairs.
The installation of a Lingenfelter installed engine package can affect your remaining power train warranty from GM. It is at your dealer’s discretion if other components such as the transmission or differential unit will be covered by the GM power train warranty. This is the same with all aftermarket installed upgrades. GM does not offer any special considerations in regards to warranty coverage for superchargers upgrades installed by specific installers or dealers. Your GM warranty will still cover the rest of the vehicle components not related to the supercharger package.
From our experience with street tires and proper maintenance the remaining power train components; transmission and differential unit would not be stressed to the point of failure because of the installation of our base supercharger package. Some higher horsepower applications will require clutch upgrades.
