C5 Corvette Turbo
The following pictures represent how the Lingenfelter twin turbo package is installed. The package for the C5 is basically unchanged since John Lingenfelter designed it in 1999. Since its inception in May 1999 Lingenfelter Performance has produced hundreds of the turbo packages and its design has proven to be unequaled in performance, durability and packaging.
The turbo exhaust manifolds and exhaust outlets shown in the pictures are early design cast iron components. Current production kits use 304 stainless steel tubular manifolds and outlets. Installation of turbo package does not require removal of front bumper this was done to provide a better view of the Lingenfelter system.
The first view shows how the pressure duct work is routed. Major components here are the front boost hoses left and right, Y pipe in the center that takes boosted air up through the mass air sensor, to the cobra head located over the radiator and into the throttle body. Notice air intake filters left and right and the charge coolers left and right located directly behind the filters.
The second picture shows an up close shot of the right side charge cooler and air intake. You can also see the inlet silicone duct work leading from the right side air intake filter back to the turbocharger inlet. The upper silicone duct is the pressure side going back to the right side charge cooler. From there the air is routed through the right side front boost hose and into the Y pipe.
Third view shows the left side charge air intake filter, charge cooler and pressure hose.
Fourth view shows the right side charge air intake filter, charge cooler and pressure hose.
The last picture shows the right side turbo exhaust manifold. The right side turbo charger is installed but not visible from above.
