The Sportsman kit features an 8/9 plate configuration—adding one additional friction and steel over the Superstock (DMS-8072) kit. This enhances torque capacity, heat dissipation, and overall durability under load. - Optimized Friction Material:
Upgraded proprietary materials deliver improved holding power and longevity—ideal for track days, street abuse, or drag-strip launches. - CNC Machined, Billet Components:
Built with billet pressure plates and hubs for precision tolerances and consistent engagement characteristics. - Tested to Over 1,000+ HP Applications:
Lingenfelter has tested and validated this clutch in vehicles making well over 1,000 horsepower and torque levels beyond 900+ lb-ft. - Wet Clutch System Compatibility:
Fully compatible with the C8’s factory Tremec TR-9080 dual-clutch transmission. No modifications required to the housing or input shaft.
Installation Tips & Notes:
- Transmission Removal Required:
Installation of the Sportsman Clutch Kit requires removal of the rear subframe and transaxle. A lift, engine support brace, and DCT clutch service tools are highly recommended. - Fluid Refill:
Always use OEM-spec DCT transmission fluid (GM Dexron HP or equivalent). A full clutch bleed and calibration via GM GDS2 software is required post-install. - Clutch Learn Procedure:
After installation, perform a clutch relearn/reset procedure using a GM scan tool or equivalent to ensure proper shift logic and engagement. - Recommended for Built Engines or Forced Induction Applications:
While compatible with NA setups, this clutch kit is ideal for engines pushing 750+ crank HP or regularly operating in aggressive driving conditions.
